About Bruce’s Doggy
Day Care
Bruce’s is the UK’s leading dog day care operator, known for its award-winning, personalised approach. Founded by Bruce Casalis, a passionate entrepreneur with a love for dogs, business, property, and travel. BDDC offers pups a day out like no other: countryside runs, pool time, agility courses, and cosy log cabins, all under the care of an experienced, devoted team.
BDDC partnered with Bitcube to make it easy for customers to book services via web or mobile, supported by a fully bespoke CRM system built around their operations. We also developed a driver app to optimise routes for daily pup pick-ups and drop-offs across London.
The Challenge
Before partnering with Bitcube, BDDC operated on what Bruce described as “sticky tape and plasters,” a disconnected mix of Apple Notes, Apple Calendar, Excel, accounting software, and a separate direct debit system. With nothing integrated, tracking and managing operations was a constant challenge.
Customer data was handled manually through spreadsheets, with monthly updates on attendance and extras. These were exported to CSV, imported into accounting software for invoicing, then re-exported for the direct debit system. Weekly notes were managed through Apple Notes, while bookings were tracked in Apple Calendar, which, in its early days, was unreliable and often lost entries.
Our goal was clear: bring everything together in a fully bespoke CRM system, alongside a customer-facing mobile booking app and a driver app to optimise daily pup pick-ups and drop-offs across London.
Our Solution
To bring the entire BDDC operation together, our UX/UI team began with in-depth research and design across three key areas: a customer-facing app, a bespoke CRM system, and a driver app.
We then built and implemented the solution using Ruby on Rails and Angular, with Flutter for the mobile apps. The custom CRM automates bookings, manages billing and payments, and syncs directly with BDDC’s accounting system to keep revenue data accurate and up to date. Allowing the team to have a full view of their operations.
The customer app gives dog owners an easy way to request services, make bookings, and receive real-time updates on their dog throughout the day.
The driver app, accessed via tablets in their doggy buses, provides live pick-up info, GPS tracking, and route monitoring, giving the office visibility and helping create audit trails for training and performance reviews.
Key Features of the Project:
- A booking system for customers.
- A custom CRM to manage operations.
- A driver app with GPS tracking.
- Real-time updates for pet owners.
- Integration with accounting systems.

The Results
Within weeks of launch, 44% of customers had downloaded the app. As the UK’s largest dog day care provider, BDDC is now leading the way in pet care tech, operating one of the largest dog day care software systems globally, capable of managing hundreds of thousands of services and customers.
New branches can now be set up in just 15–30 minutes, with full back-office support ready to go. The customer app lets users manage bookings, sync their dog’s schedule to iCloud calendars, and view photos from day care. Meanwhile, the driver app has made routes more efficient, improving the experience for both dogs and their humans.
Client Testimonial
“We have worked with Bitcube for 4 years, and continue to be impressed by their capability, customer service and strong work ethic.”
“A few things that stand out for me are their efforts to understand our business and their appreciation that customer experience has a massive impact in our operation.
Another one is their technical capability in that they can actually do the incredible things that they promise, which sounds simple, but very rarely is. At the start I thought ‘if this system does what these guys say it’s going, it will be phenomenal.’ And although I didn’t believe them at the start, it has done everything and more than they promised!
Bitcube has built a fantastic team of developers, and we will no doubt be continuing our relationship with Bitcube into the future. As we are UK based, when starting the project our biggest concern was about working remotely. However, this concern proved to be unfounded – collaboration and communication has been fantastic. When needed, we have been able to have daily calls and numerous screen-share sessions and we have also been able to catch up during their visits to London and my visits to their offices.”
