FIT for LIVET
A leading Danish medical weight loss clinic — engineered for lasting results, and owned outright.

About FIT for LIVET
FIT for LIVET is a leading Danish specialist clinic for medically supervised weight loss, combining prescribed GLP-1 medication with expert clinical guidance. With tens of thousands of members through their programme, their approach goes beyond the prescription itself — they wanted to give members a genuinely supportive, motivating experience around their medication, from tracking side effects to celebrating small wins to finding a recipe that actually fits the plan. FIT for LIVET partnered with Bitcube to build that experience as a bespoke mobile app and platform, owned outright rather than rented.
The Challenge
Before this project, FIT for LIVET relied on an existing white-label application for their members. It did the job, but only within the limits of what the platform's owner decided to offer. FIT for LIVET paid a monthly subscription for the privilege of using someone else's tools, someone else's roadmap, and someone else's ceiling. If a feature they needed wasn't already built into the white-label product, it simply wasn't possible — no amount of budget or ambition could get around that.
That became a serious problem as FIT for LIVET's ambitions for their members grew. They wanted to offer something genuinely premium: medication-specific weight loss projections tailored to what the science says about each drug, a dynamic community recipe library members could actually contribute to, and detailed medical tracking that went well beyond what a generic white-label template could support. None of that was achievable while renting someone else's platform.
The only real solution was to own the platform outright. That meant a system where FIT for LIVET's own team could publish and manage content dynamically — recipes, articles, videos, community posts — without waiting on a vendor, while members got a fast, native-feeling mobile experience that didn't feel like a compromise. Nothing like it existed to copy: a single app combining clinical medication tracking, a community recipe library and a subscription model isn't a template you can buy off the shelf. It had to work fluently in English, Danish and Swedish, with none of them feeling like an afterthought. Time zones mattered more than usual, because much of the app's value lives in reminders and schedules — get that wrong and a reminder lands at 3am instead of 8am, and trust in the app disappears fast. And free and paid had to live in the same app cleanly, with the core staying free for every member while premium features got an architecture of their own.

Our Solution
This is where “bespoke” stopped being a word on our website and became the only way to deliver the brief. Nothing here was templated, off-the-shelf, or borrowed from a previous project.
Discovery — getting the foundations right before writing a line of code
Before any design or development started, we ran an in-depth discovery phase to understand the specifications and architecture the app would need — not just the feature list, but the decisions underneath it. This is where the localisation approach, the time zone handling strategy, and the split between free and paid features got mapped out, so the rest of the project was built on solid ground rather than figured out mid-build. It's also where the case for owning the platform rather than renting one got proven out: every constraint FIT for LIVET had hit with their previous white-label app became a requirement we designed around from day one.
Design — a design system built for this app, and no other
Design kicked off with branding discovery, then moved into full UX/UI design. Rather than working from an existing pattern library, we built FIT for LIVET a custom design system from scratch — custom components and custom imagery, designed specifically for this product and this audience. What you see in the app doesn't exist anywhere else, because we made it for FIT for LIVET alone. Every screen was designed to solve a specific problem for this product, not to look plausible in a portfolio.
Development — one native-feeling app, one connected platform behind it
With the previous white-label setup, FIT for LIVET couldn't touch the mobile experience or the systems behind it. Owning the platform meant building all of it. The mobile app is Flutter, giving them a single codebase that runs natively on both iOS and Android without compromising on feel — the kind of polish that shows up in the details, like a smooth progress graph, reliable notification handling, and photo capture that feels instant. Alongside it sits a web portal where their team manages articles, the video library, recipes and community posts directly, with no vendor and no waiting on someone else's release schedule. Underneath both, a backend ties everything together: every API call between app and portal, every medication reminder firing at the right time in the right time zone, and the architecture behind the subscription model, so the team can manage what sits behind the paywall without it being a development request every time.
Launch readiness — getting from “built” to “live”
A finished app is only half the job. We took FIT for LIVET through everything needed to get from a working build to a released product: preparing app store listings, writing and designing store screenshots, and setting up the App Store and Google Play accounts, so launch day was a formality rather than a scramble.
Three things run quietly under the surface that were non-negotiable to get right. Full localisation, not just translated text — English, Danish and Swedish, built into the app's architecture rather than layered on top. Time zone-aware scheduling, so medication reminders, activity goals and notifications land at the right local time for every member, wherever they are. And a free-to-use app with a genuine premium tier, architected so FIT for LIVET's team can manage subscribing members and paid features independently.

The Results
FIT for LIVET now operates on a completely bespoke digital platform, entirely free from the limitations of their previous white-label subscription. By bringing the technology in-house, the business no longer has to compromise on the member experience.
The mobile app, built on Flutter, gives members a fast, modern, highly responsive interface on both iOS and Android. Members can log their daily progress, visualise their weight loss trajectory over time, and engage with a supportive community. Features like expected weight loss predictions based on prescribed medication give members a level of clinical personalisation that simply wasn't possible on the old system.
On the administrative side, the team finally has total control over their product. The custom Next.js management portal acts as a central hub, letting staff publish fresh articles, manage the video library, and oversee community moderation without friction. They can update the ecosystem's content dynamically, without needing a software release for every new tip or recipe.
Ultimately, this end-to-end rebuild delivered exactly what the business needed: a premium, scalable foundation. FIT for LIVET has moved from renting a rigid app to owning a flexible product that matches the quality of their weight loss programme.
