Good Energy
Three years on a heat pump estimate journey — rebranded, re-platformed and moved to Zoho CRM without downtime, and held to WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
Selling a heat pump is not selling a product.
We build the digital front end of the energy transition: journeys that price a physical installation at a real property, qualify the enquiry, and hand a usable job to the people who will actually fit it.
The hard part is that the thing being sold is not in a warehouse. It is an installation at a specific building, and the price depends on the building. So the journey has to extract enough signal from a postcode and a short set of questions to produce a number the business can stand behind — and it has to do that for a customer who has never bought one before.
Capabilities
Pricing a physical installation from an address and a short question set, producing a figure the business can honour rather than a lead-capture estimate.
Journeys built to accessibility standard throughout — because a nationwide energy purchase reaches every kind of user, not a self-selecting technical audience.
Moving the enquiry pipeline between CRM platforms while the journey keeps taking real enquiries, rather than pausing acquisition for a migration.
Replacing a backend endpoint by endpoint underneath a live journey, so acquisition never stops during a re-platform.
Address lookup and property data integration, so the customer types as little as possible and the quote is anchored to a real building.
Carrying a working journey through an acquisition and onto a new brand without taking it offline or losing its conversion.
The Domain
The constraints that shape every build in this sector — and the ones an agency that has not worked here tends to discover late.
Price depends on the property, the existing system and access. The journey's job is to extract enough signal to quote honestly, and to know when it cannot and a survey is required.
Nobody develops expertise in heat pumps. The journey has to teach while it sells, without turning into a brochure that never reaches a price.
Enquiry volume is the business. Re-platforming, CRM moves and rebrands all have to happen underneath a journey that keeps trading, which rules out the clean cutover everyone would prefer.
Energy reaches the whole population, including the households with the most to gain and the least technical confidence. An inaccessible journey excludes exactly the customers the sector exists to reach.
A sale that installers cannot actually deliver is worse than no sale. What the journey captures is set by what the field team needs to turn up and fit it.
