Bitcube Joins techUK, the UK's Technology Trade Association

techUK — the UK's technology trade association

We've joined techUK — the UK's technology trade association. It's an organisation that brings the technology industry together with government to, in its own words, champion "technology's role in preparing and empowering the UK for what comes next." For a UK-led software company, it's a natural place to be part of the wider conversation.

Membership connects us to the part of the industry that helps shape how technology is adopted responsibly across the UK — from the policy that governs it to the practical work of getting it into productive use.

Who techUK is

Founded in 2013, techUK is one of the UK's largest technology trade associations, representing companies from across the digital sector and giving the industry a collective voice in its work with government. Its members range from global platforms to small and mid-sized software firms like ours.

Its work is organised around three themes: shaping policy — on economic policy, skills, and diversity; accelerating innovation — in emerging technologies such as cloud, AI, and quantum; and developing markets — where technology drives progress in sectors like financial services, health, and social care. Alongside these, it runs programmes on climate action, responsible AI adoption, and public-sector digital transformation.

What we hope to contribute

We didn't join to add a logo to a page. We joined because we think we have something practical to offer the conversation:

  • A responsible-AI perspective grounded in delivery. We're ISO 42001 certified and use AI extensively in how we build software. We can speak to what governed, accountable AI adoption looks like in day-to-day practice — not just in principle.
  • Practical outcomes over hype. Much of the industry debate is about potential; our contribution is what actually ships. We'd like to help keep the focus on real, measurable results for the businesses that use technology.
  • The mid-market voice. A lot of policy is framed around the largest firms. As a bespoke agency serving startups and growing businesses, we can represent what technology adoption looks like for organisations that don't have unlimited resources.
  • Skills and people. We run a graduate programme and build our teams across the UK and Europe. Skills and diversity are areas techUK works on directly, and ones we care about in how we grow.

Why it fits how we work

techUK's themes line up with commitments we've already made. We hold ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 certifications, we're a member of BASDA, and responsible, secure, well-governed technology is how we already operate. Membership adds an industry-wide platform — and a community of peers — around those commitments, and a way to help shape what comes next rather than just respond to it.
