About TiPJAR

TiPJAR is an innovative FinTech company transforming the hospitality industry with a cashless tipping platform built for the modern world. By removing the need for physical cash, it makes it easy for customers to show appreciation and ensures hospitality staff get the recognition they deserve.

Customers can tip staff, whether waiters, bartenders, or baristas, by scanning a QR code or using a tap-to-pay terminal. Each team member has a unique QR code, and venues can install dedicated tipping devices to simplify the process.

TiPJAR partnered with Bitcube to accelerate development and enhance their product. With a backend-focused team in place, they needed a partner to bring strong front-end and mobile expertise to the table.

The Challenge

Before partnering with Bitcube, TiPJAR was preparing for its first public funding round on Crowdcube and entering a critical growth phase. They faced a mix of operational and technical challenges that required quick, expert support.

While their internal team had strong backend capabilities, they lacked the front-end and mobile expertise needed to deliver the polished, user-friendly experiences their platform demanded. With tight deadlines and no time for lengthy hiring processes, TiPJAR needed immediate access to proven development talent.

Their platform had to support both web-based tools for hospitality partners and mobile apps for customer tipping, while also scaling to meet growing demand. As tipping volumes increased, so did the need for powerful data and analytics to help partners track earnings, performance, and trends in real time.

Our goal was clear: bring front-end expertise, support mobile app development, and deliver advanced analytics to unlock deeper insight for TiPJAR and their partners.

Our Solution

To support TiPJAR’s growth, our development team built out their web platform using Angular, giving hospitality teams the tools to manage tips, track payouts, and support staff with ease.

At the same time, our mobile team developed TiPJAR’s customer-facing app from the ground up using .NET MAUI, ensuring a fast, intuitive tipping experience on the go. We also brought in a data scientist to implement a robust Power BI reporting system, delivering automated weekly, monthly, and quarterly insights for partners.

Finally, we created the core tipping interface with flexible customisation options, allowing venues to tailor the experience to their brand, all built for scalability and long-term growth
